Exterior waterproofing is the most comprehensive approach to foundation waterproofing — and the most durable. We excavate around the perimeter of the foundation to expose the full height of the wall, then clean and prepare the surface for membrane application.

A Duraflex rubberized membrane is applied directly to the concrete or block wall, creating a seamless, fully bonded waterproof barrier. Over the membrane, we install a drainage board that directs water downward, away from the wall, and toward a refreshed weeping tile system at the base of the footing.

The backfill is then carefully compacted in layers to minimize future settlement. Done properly, an exterior waterproofing system stops water before it ever contacts your foundation — the most effective protection available.

Interior Waterproofing

Interior waterproofing doesn't stop water from entering the foundation wall — but it intercepts it before it can cause damage and directs it safely away from your living space. It is less invasive than exterior waterproofing, can be completed without disrupting landscaping, and is often the most practical solution for older homes or situations where full excavation isn't warranted.

We install a drainage channel system along the perimeter of the basement floor, beneath the slab, that collects water seeping through the wall-floor joint and floor cracks and channels it to a sump pit. A high-quality sump pump then removes the collected water from the home.

Interior waterproofing is highly effective and, in many cases, is the recommended solution even when the budget for exterior work exists — particularly when water entry is through the floor or floor-wall joint rather than through the wall face itself.

Not every basement water problem requires a full waterproofing system. When water is entering through a discrete crack in a poured concrete foundation, targeted crack repair is often the most efficient and cost-effective solution.

We use polyurethane or epoxy injection methods to fill and seal foundation cracks from the inside, following the crack through its full depth to create a permanent, flexible seal that moves with the foundation rather than cracking again.
